Covers vs Originals: ‘Boys of Summer’

This is a debate that doesn’t really come up too often. That is unless you are talking to me. I love talking whether a cover of a song is better than the original. It doesn’t happen too often, but sometimes it does (at least in my opinion). What this ongoing post will show is what songs I think are actually better as a cover rather than the original. Feel free to voice your opinion on these selections on facebook, twitter or to old people who don’t own computers and who feel the very idea of technology causes them to curl up in fear.

Without further a due, the first installment of Covers vs Originals:

“Boys of Summer”

OriginalDon Henley (former Eagle), released in 1984 as first single on album Building the Perfect Beast

Cover: The Ataris, released in 2003, single off album So Long, Astoria.

You decide which is better.
