In what will no doubt scar your child for life or somehow make them strangely comfortable around great white sharks, here is a Jaws themed baby bed by sculptor Joseph Reginella. On the one hand, this is an amazingly cool bed, on the other hand, it is a re-creation of one of the scariest scenes in a pretty scary movie and on the other hand…holy shit I have 3 hands?! When the hell did this happen? Okay, I’m gonna get this checked out, in the meantime, enjoy more photos of this baby bed.
I probably watched every episode of this show as a kid and all I remember is that there was a dolphin named Darwin who could talk and it starred Roy Scheider from Jaws and Jonathan Brandis from the movie Ladybugs (Ya know, the movie where he dressed up like a girl and played soccer for Rodney Dangerfield?). Actually, come to think of it, I remember way more about the movie Ladybugs then I do about this show. The Show was set in the near future of 2018 (which is a lot nearer now then it was back in 1992 when this aired. Math!) aboard SeaQuest DSV which was a submarine of some sort. And…yeah, that about sums it up. Now here’s the opening theme. Enjoy.
This crazy cover band gives us a double dip of Nostalgia. First, Mac Sabbath is a band that performs in complete McDonald’s character costumes (albeit evil versions) featuring childhood faves: Ronald McDonald (lead vocals), Grimace (bass), Mayor McCheese (guitar) and The Hamburglar (drums). Second, they do covers of Black Sabbath with lyrics to relate them to McDonalds. I actually thought this would get old pretty fast but ended up watching the entire 5 minute video much to my delight. I hope as a response The Burger King Kids Club comes out with an early 90s hip hop band.
Long time ESPN anchor and Sports Center icon Stuart Scott has passed away at the age of 49. Scott basically invented the modern sports show host. His charisma and catchphrases such as “As cool as the other side of the pillow” to “He must be the bus driver cuz he was takin’ him to school.” were legendary. While his signature “Boo-Yah!” during highlights is just iconic. As a huge sports fan it is sad to see this legend pass way too soon. I thank him for his amazing work and also for inspiring one of my favourite SNL sketches of all time. R.I.P. Stuart Scott.
