The Date, September 11th, 2001 will forever be linked to one of the worst tragedies in American history. There have been dozens of television show and movies dedicated to all the facts, beliefs and conspiracies of September 11th, 2001 but there is one crazy fact not many people have mentioned…
The crazy amount of huge albums that came out that day! I was shocked to stumble upon this fact and felt I should share. So let us take a trip down a more happy memory lane to September 11th shall we? Kay.
Jay Z: The Blueprint
I feel like this album was pretty well known for coming out September 11th but I think the fact that it was such a great album made it easy to forget that fact.
Ben Folds: Rockin’ The Suburbs
While Ben Folds isn’t the biggest name in the world (or even top 5,000), this album actually did quite well and was the album that got me into his music.
P.O.D: Satellite
Remember P.O.D.? They were like the biggest thing going from late 2001 to slightly later 2001!
Nickleback: Silver Side Up
I hate to admit this, but I was really on board with Nickleback when this album came out. It was in my younger days and I just loved hard rock music at the time. Please judge me as you see fit.
Mariah Carey: Glitter
Turns out there was more than one tragedy that day….
The Coup: Party Music
This last one is more random (and also mindblowingly nuts!). I have never heard of the group The Coup at any point but apparently their album “Party Music” came out September 11th, 2001 with the album cover depicting both the twin towers exploding. That’s just fucking insane!
