In the 1980’s, Geraldo Rivera was the producer and host of a controversial daytime talk show which featured over-the-top topics and guests. The show was often characterized as “Trash TV”, but captivated audiences with its sheer spectacle of debauchery.

In 1988, Geraldo was the host for a heated debate featuring white supremacists, antiracist skinheads, black activists and Jewish activists. In one of the most publicized incidents in television history, a brawl broke out resulting in Geraldo’s nose being broken.
