Really?: ‘Captain Power’ is about to make a comeback

A couple years ago I did a post on a show from my childhood called Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future. It was one of those posts where I figured no one would care and I was probably the only person who watched or remembered it. Turns out I was very wrong, a lot of people loved (or at least remembered) this spectacular 80s tv show failure. Among the highlights of this show was the fact that it cost one million dollars an episode back in 1988 (you really should check out the original post, it’s crazy). Throwback Thursdays! “Cupid’s Chokehold” by Gym Class Heroes

Can you believe this song is 11 years old? Oh yeah. I heard Cupid’s Chokehold the other day and thought, this song has gotta be coming up on 10 years old, when that happens I can do a Throwback Thursday on it, but that’s probably a few years away . Boy was I wrong! I sure got egg on my face, although that is due to an unrelated breakfast incident. Anywho, this song was pretty big back in 2005 and why wouldn’t it be? You had Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy (one of the hottest bands at the time) singing the hook from Supertramp’s hit song “Breakfast in America” along with Travis McCoy’s sultry rap lyrics. Throw in a cameo by a then unknown Katy Perry (she was McCoy’s girlfriend at the time) and you got yourself a recipe for success! Enjoy!
