Throwback Thursdays! “La Bamba” by Los Lobos

Oh buddy, this is a big childhood favorite for this guy (this guy being me. I’m sorry was that not clear?). The original song of course was by Ritchie Valens, however, in the late 80s I only knew of this version as it was getting tons of play on the radio thanks to the release of the movie La Bamba starring Lou Diamond Phillips as Valens. Fun fact: As a child I told my parents I saw the sequel to La Bamba one day at school. I claimed that Ritchie Valens actually escaped the plane in a parachute. My parents just smiled and let me go on and on. Years later I would find out what “based on a true story” meant and realize what a cool move that was by my parents not calling me on my insane lie. Enjoy the video!

Fictional Geography: City Map Made up of Over 900 Movies

This is a street map of a fictional city made up of neighborhoods and parks based on over 900 movies. Also, you can buy copies of this thing for money! YAY! It is really cool and a lot of thought was clearly put into it by the people over at Dorothy (who created this piece of awesome). I mean how cool would it be to take Arlington Road  to Jurassic Park  then dash over to Reservoir Dogs for an afternoon dip! To get a better look at this bad boy check out the site here. Procrastination: “I Should Have Killed You When I Had The Chance” Supercut

You know that feeling when you are like “man, I don’t have much going on this weekend. I should probably start working on that project that is due in 2 weeks”. Then two weeks later your project isn’t done and your professor is all “I’m very disappointed in you. You had so much time to get this done”. Then you realize you should have just sucked it up and murdered your professor 2 weeks earlier? Well, this supercut is a little like that. Enjoy!
