What Could Have Been: Chris Farley as Shrek

Well, turns out when Mike Myers wasn’t happy with his first attempt at Shrek and made Dream Works completely re-record it in another voice it wasn’t the first time. In fact, they had already gone through the process with a completely different actor. That actor? Why none other than the late Chris Farley. Farley sadly passed away before the movie could be close to completion which resulted in the re-casting of the role with Mike Myers. Ever wonder what Chris Farley’s Shrek might have sounded like? Here’s a hint, it sounds just like Chris Farley. Enjoy.

Nintendo PlayStation Prototype Discovered

Back in the early 90s, Nintendo and Sony got together to create a next-gen system. The project never got legs and supposedly only 200 prototypes were ever produced. Well apparently a reddit user known as Dndbld claims his father had Sony connections and has a prototype system in pretty good condition. If this system is legit this person could sitting on a small fortune. I myself had no idea this was even a venture that took place. I looked into it and I think this is what the system was supposed to look like: The marriage between Nintendo and Sony must have ended badly considering all the PlayStation commercials that took shots at Nintendo back in the day. Overall, pretty cool though!

So many potential Oscars: Tim Burton’s failed “Superman Lives” movie staring Nicolas Cage

It’s a bird…It’s a plane…nope, it’s a insane Superman movie that was never made. The movie was titled Superman Lives and it has gone down in pop-culture folklore for what it may have been. Set to be directed by Tim Burton, this crazy incarnation of a gothic, cyborg-style Superman was to star Nicolas Cage as Krypton’s last son Kal-El (or Superman if you will). Oh and Chris Rock as a robot sidekick. Did I forget to mention that? Stories and fables of what this movie was all about have been flying around the internet for years. The most well known being during an evening with Kevin Smith, where he tells an incredible story of how he was hired to punch up the script for the movie. Trust me, even if you don’t like Superman (or Kevin Smith) this video is worth the 20 minute run time. However, we may finally be able to hear what this movie could have been! There is a documentary titled The Death of  “Superman Lives”; What Happened? that is set …
