The Time Dave Grohl Improvised ‘Stairway to Heaven’ and ‘Tiny Dancer’ on Kilborn

Dave Grohl has always been my guy. From the day I got into rock music, there was Dave, whether it be as the drummer for Nirvana or lead singer of my all time favorite rock band Foo Fighters. Now, I have enjoyed the music Dave Grohl has put out over the years but what really drew me to him was his personality. Every time I saw him in an interview he seemed so honest, done to earth and most important: Funny as Hell! I could go on and on for hours about all the things I love about Dave Grohl, but luckily for you there are two appearances Dave made on Kilborn back in the early 2000s that pretty much capture all that is great about him. In both of these videos it is simply Dave Grohl being himself, having fun and playing music. The first video is Dave performing ‘Stairway to Heaven’ by Led Zeppelin. Throwback Thursdays! Performances atop the Ed Sullivan Theater

This week for Throwback Thursdays we are doing something a little different. I have been doing posts about David Letterman all week and even though his show is now over, I figured I’d keep the trend going. Why? Cause it’s my blog and I’ll cry and eat ice cream while I write if I want to! Anywho, I knew right away that I wanted Throwback Thursday to be an act from the Late Show that was performed atop the Ed Sullivan Theater.
