This is a series of illustrations by artist Dan Luvisi that re-imagines some of our favourite cartoon characters (and Muppets) as psychopaths, killers and in some cases just weird looking. Although if you ask me Otto from The Simpsons seems pretty much the same. Enjoy!
If you remember this movie, I’m sure you are going crazy right now. This is a movie that my parents recorded during Christmas one year and I watched it over and over and over again. It is the first movie I remember crying at and even months later in July (yes I was still watching this in July), I remember crying while watching it and telling my mom I had a headache because I didn’t want her to know I was crying because of the movie. I had a lot of “headaches” that year as my favourite movie Top Gun was brought into my life (I cried at Top Gun both for the Goose death scene and because of it’s overall awesomeness!) The plot is pretty simple, when no people are around, the toys come to life (so suck it Toy Story, got your storyline beat by over 10 years!). If the toys are caught out of the position that a person left them in, they will be frozen forever…basically they turn into what we …
This was hands down on my top 3 favourite Christmas Specials of all time. A Muppet Family Christmas. This was even better than A Muppet’s Christmas Carol (yeah I said it). Here is the whole special in its entirety (you can watch it all including the 80s tv commercials here. It’s amazing). This movie was the first (I believe) to bring all of Jim Henson’s Muppets together including The Muppets, The Cast of Sesame Street and The Fraggles. It’s an adorable little story of everyone showing up to Fozzy’s mom’s farmhouse for the holidays. A house she had already rented out to Doc (from Fraggle rock,) who wanted a quiet Christmas with his dog Sprocket. The whole gang winds up together and you learn the importance of family and being together and yada yada yada. It’s a great little Christmas Story and I encourage everyone to give it a watch. The scene where the Swedish Chef is trying to cook Big Bird is phenomenal! (it happens around the 27 minute mark). Merry Christmas!
Halloween is full of nightmares and candy! Mostly candy, but nightmares seem to slip their way in as well. And let me tell you, nobody had a nightmare quite like Dr. Cliff Huxtable one evening on The Cosby Show. After Cliff decided to have a spicy sandwich before bed (which everyone knows causes nightmares) he had a Muppet of a nightmare…because The Muppets were in it. Take a look at the what transpired. *The whole episode is below, if you just want to see the Muppets start the video at 11:10.
This is the original pitch sent to television networks to sell the show. It starts off a little slow, then gets amazing! Especially when you factor in that this is a REAL pitch sent to REAL networks. Take a couple minutes to check it out, I think you will enjoy it.
