I did not know that: Classic Video Game Secrets

Throughout history video games have always had hidden levels or cheat codes. Some would help you out as a gamer, others added fun elements and some made no sense whatsoever…which made them awesome! Here are a few of the best secrets from classic video games. See how many you remember/even knew about. NBA JAM: Secret Roster This is a secret many people were aware of but few knew the codes to unlock them. This was back before the internet, so friends who knew these codes would hold on to them like they were the goddamn missile codes during the cold war. I assume this was so they would always get invited over to play. With these codes you could unlock secret players such as: Bill and Hilary Clinton, Will Smith and Jazzy Jeff, The Beastie Boys and of course the President of Parliament Funkadelic himself George Clinton (no relation to Bill).   GoldenEye 64: DK Mode DK Mode (named for Donkey Kong as it gave players big heads and long arms) made it that much …

Iconic roles that nearly went to other actors

Will Smith as Neo in The Matrix Oh, this almost happened. It’s always to fun to look at “what ifs” when it comes to movies. A great example is the above. Yes, Will Smith was originally cast to play Neo in The Matrix movies. A couple of interesting “what ifs” come out of this. First, how different would The Matrix be with Will Smith as the lead instead of Keanu Reeves? I mean it’s safe to say Keanu put his own “Keanu” spin on the role. Also how different (and by that I mean how much worse) would the movie Wild Wild West have been had Will Smith not been in it? Yes, Will Smith passed up The Matrix to do Wild Wild West. While, this move did not hurt Will Smith’s career at all, you can make the argument it was probably the best thing to ever happen to Keanu Reeves.   Molly Ringwald as Vivian Ward in Pretty Woman It’s hard to picture anyone but Julia Roberts in this role but Molly Ringwald …

Big Willie Style – I miss Will Smith’s music career

It’s hard to believe it’s been almost 17 years since Will Smith released Big Willie Style, an album that kicked off a 2 year reign where Will Smith was the king of the radio. Will Smith could possibly be the best and most successful cross-over artist. Many have forgotten that he was a celebrated music act because of his successful film career. While he has yet to win an Oscar, he has been nominated twice, along with four Golden Globe nominations. But did you know that he’s had four Grammy wins! His 1997 comeback album (he was a rapper in the 80s before The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) won him two of those Grammy awards. Smith followed up Big Willie Style with the also awesome Willenium. Look at the all of the singles that came of these two albums… JUST THE TWO OF US (look at little Jayden….man I hate that kid) GETTIN’ JIGGY WITH IT MIAMI (notice Eva Mendes at 01;08) JUST CRUSIN’ WILD WILD WEST FREAKIN’ IT WILL 2K SO FRESH   Will …

Why did the Fresh Prince have 2 Aunt Vivians?

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was perhaps one of the best sitcoms of the 90s. People still know the lyrics off by heart to it’s theme song…. Did you ever notice how mid way through the show, they replace Aunt Vivian? The first actress was Janet Hubert-Whitten, who placed the role from 1990 – 1993. She was the strong black woman who taught the boys about the importance of culture and family. She had a real-life pregnancy in 1993 which was written into the script, this explains why Baby Nicky was added to the show. But after the pregnancy she was replaced by Daphne Reid. Daphne’s Aunt Vivian was more a enhancement role and took a backseat often to other characters. In this scene, the show breaks the fourth wall to make reference to the change. The official explanation for the change was that Janet had gained 60 pounds and had become “hormonally difficult”…whatever that means. But stories say that she was incredible hard to work with even before. Will Smith stated  “I can say …
